Orange ladies Hockey Team coach Jos Openda says he is optimistic that his ladies are in the best form to qualify for world club cup this season.

The Coach says that they are sure of retaining the national league title and defend the African cup of club champions that will be held in Accra Ghana this year. The national league is set to commence this weekend with Orange girls having an opening match against sliders on Sunday 3.00pm.

Openda adds that with the new signings and support from the main sponsors who are Orange Telkom, they are in a better position to clinch the two titles and qualify for world club cup next year.

“This year we are a better side than we have been before and we are only preparing for Africa cup of club champions. We are sure of minimal competition from the national league and we are looking forward for good results”. He said.

Kenya is going to host the Olympics qualifiers in Nairobi later this year and coach is proud that the national team is dominated by the orange ladies which pave way for qualification.

“We have signed up four new players and we know we are going to perform better and since we are hosting the Olympic qualifiers later in Nairobi and the national League is dominated by my girls, we have an upper hand for going to the Olympics.” He added.
