After collecting three points on Saturday with a 2-1 win over Western Jaguars, Mombasa Sports Club finished off their trip to Nairobi with a point on Sunday after a barre draw with Greensharks at the City Park Stadium.

The four points accumulated over the weekend takes them to second position on the league standings with five points from three matches.

They defended tactically well on the day against draw specialist Sharks who failed to break their back four. Keeper Collins Wanyonyi was man of the match keeping his side in the match even when the backline marshaled by Captain George Olang and Mariano Emadau were out played.

Sharks’ Captain Tony Nyikuri credited the opposing custodian for single handedly keeping his side in the match for the entire 70 minutes.

“It was probably the toughest match we have played this season. I can count the number of times they moved forward to attack. They seated back and defended. However their keeper was outstanding barring away all our goal bound efforts.” He said.

In other matches played on Sunday, Multimedia University were 1-0 losers to Kenyatta University in the Men National league while Police moved to top of the premier league standings with a 3-0 win over Western Jaguars.
