Wazalendo Hockey club are sitting at the helm of the men’s premier league with four points having played two rounds of matches.

 On Saturday, in the only top flight hockey match Wazalendo needed a late Davis Wafula goal to cancel a Sammy Namonyo first half strike for Greensharks at the City Park stadium.

In second position lies Strathmore University ‘Gladiators’ with three points from a single match. Kenya Police the 2011 champions are in third position on three points though with an inferior goal difference. In fourth place is United States International University (USIU).  “Makwapa” have three points with an inferior goal difference. Parkroad completes the top five teams with three points from two matches.

In the Men national league Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) leapfrogged Parklands at the summit with a 4-3 win over Daystar University on Sunday.

JKUAT scored via a brace from Richard Mutambo and Collins Asilwa  with Daystar responding with single strikes by Ferdnard Mandieka ,Jesse Mulware and Cajetan Odhiambo in the seven goal thriller.

The win left JKUAT with six points from six matches with a superior goal difference to second placed Parklands. Wazalendo completes the best three with four points from two matches.
