Defending Kenya premier league hockey  champions Kenya police are set to commence their training  ahead of the 2012 season at the Mathare depot as from 3rd February 2012 according to team manager Mr. Tom Odong’.

The law enforcers- one of the oldest clubs in the country are set to resume training and are focusing on fitness sessions as they await word from the Hockey union on the commencement of the 2012 league.

The 2011 season was a memorable one to the law enforcers, as they won the league on goal difference, their first in history ahead of the then defending champions Strathmore University.
The team expects a tough season ahead as teams will be seeking to sting them from the top but  are prepared for new challenges from all the teams. They have recruited new players in a bid to inject fresh ideas in the squad.

“It is easy to become number one, the challenge is to maintain that position, Simba club for instant has recruited very good players, that is a clear intention that they want to win the league too will. But we will do our best to prove that what we did last season was not by luck, we mean business.”, said the team manager

The law enforcers who are yet to unveil and register their new signings to the union remain optimist that the 2012 season is going to be a good one. The team has even better motivation to perform better as the police commissioner himself has pledged his commitment and support to the side this season.

Meanwhile there is word that the team will send scouts to Kiganjo training centre to indentify and bring on board more players before the final registration is closed.
