Dejected Kenya hockey national women team picked up some consolation win after beating debut ants Tanzania to end with bronze in the 2013 Hockey Africa cup of nations at the City park stadium on Friday.

Kenya silver winners from two years ago in Zimbabwe  scored 12-0 against the team not ranked either in the  Africa federations or the  world hockey rankings.

Body language was very wanting in the Kenya camp rarely threatening the visitors whom they defeated 13-1 in the earlier fixture.

Jacky Jow,Caroline Guchu and Margret Rotich each scored trebles for the Fidhelis Kimanzi led side.
Kenya took a 6-0 lead at the break with the visitors the happier with the score line.
Pauline Naise, Audrey Omaido and a last minute goal from Rachael Awour ensured Kenya finished third in the continental event.

Defeats  to South Africa and Ghana in between wins over Tanzania meant Kenya could not be in Saturday's final.

South Africa and Ghana will battle it out for the sole slot for next June  World cup to be held at the Netherlands.
