Harambee Stars call-up Taiwo Atieno’s scored the only goal to help his club Torquay FC beat Shrewsbury in a League Two fixture in a Chilly Plainmoor stadium on Saturday afternoon .League Two is fourth tier level in the English football system.

After a scoreless first half,Taiwo Atieno rose to head in the 68th minute to give his side the maximum points and extended their good run to only one loss in the last  sixteen matches.

After 29 games Torquay is placed fourth in the table standings and three points adrift of top placed Cheltenham.

Atieno was among the surprised call-ups named by coach kimanzi on Wednesday. He made his Kenyan debut in a match against Mozambique as a late substitute in the June 2009 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. He played the whole match against Bahrain in a friendly then went on to feature against Mozambique in the return leg and also against Tunisia in Tunis.

The 26-year-old has played for Walsall, Rochdale, Chester, Kidderminster, Darlington, Dagenham & Redbridge and Tamworth as well as in the US.

In Scotland, Victor Wanyama’s Celtic beat Inverness CT 1-0 to extend their winning streak to  17 domestic games.Celtic is four points clear of second placed Rangers at the top of the SPL log.

Joe Ledley’s first-half strike separated the two sides and was a perfect gift to coach Neil Lennon who marked his 100th game in charge of the Hoops. Both teams had a man sent off.

Victor Wanyama played in central defense and had a header effort narrowly miss the post after a Georgio Samaras's corner.
