Juventus held by Mariga's Parma

Updated on 16/02/12  |    By JOHN MUNENE

Second placed Juventus failed to capitalize on a chance to reclaim  Serie A top spot from  pace setter AC Milan as they were  held to a barren draw by hosts  Parma in a  rescheduled clash at Ennio Tardini on Wednesday evening. Bad weather forced the rescheduling of the match last month.

Kenyan MacDonald Mariga played the full 90 minutes and had the first opportunity in the  second minute but his weak shot was saved by  Gianluigi Buffon.

Apart from Mariga'early s effort ,Parma were completely outclassed by Juventus for the remaining period of the game. Giorgio Chiellini 's header was denied by the posts. Mirko Vucinic  had three efforts saved by Parma keeper  Nicola Pavarini.

After the goalless encounter, Parma now placed 12th on 28 points.AC Milan who blanked Arsenal 4-0 in a Champions league match on Wednesday top  the league standings with 47 points.
