After attending two weeks’ trials in July, Kenyan international midfielder Jerry Santos impressed the Vietnamese top league club officials at HAGL and has landed a two year offer to play in the V-League.The talented  Simba SC midfielder will however wait until end on November when his contract at Simba  expires before joining compatriot Allan Wanga in his new club.

Speaking exclusively  to Santos, expressed his joy  on the latest development saying, “Am more than delighted at their expression of interest in my services. This could be my first big soccer move.Simba has been my  home  for the last two years and I will offer my best in the remaining part of my contract as a way of thanking the club and my loyal fans for the overwhelming support they have given me.” He said.

If he opts to take the deal, Santos will not have trouble gelling in his new team that has another Kenyan international Allan Wanga “That is a good thing for me because I will not have that much of culture shock. Allan was very kind and offered me a lot of help during my trials and I thank him for his brotherhood.” He added.

Allan Wanga has been a regular scorer at HAGL. Another Kenyan player playing in Vietnam’s V-League is Rodgers Nandwa now called Rodgers Van Nguyen after changing his nationality to being a Vietnamese.

With Santos’ contract expiry drawing closer, Simba SC is not willing to let Santos go and has expressed willingness to open new talks with the Kenyan international and are optimistic of convincing him to stay by offering better personal terms.

“Simba is ready for new talks on my contract extension but I have not decided yet about my future. Am weighing the options and when the time is ripe I will announce where I want to land next. However, No matter my next move, Simba has offered me more than the best treatment, they treat us players with all the care and I thank them for giving me an opportunity to expose my talent.” Added Santos.

The Tanzanian soccer league kicks off this weekend.
