First it was full back Nestroy Kizito, followed by skipper Ibrahim
Sekagya and now top rated striker David Obua has hung his boots from
international football.
Obua, 29, wrote to Fufa announcing his
retirement from the national scene citing to “give a chance to upcoming
stars and build on my personal football career”.
This is a day
after Captain Ibrahim Sekagya quit the national squad after adorning the
Uganda Cranes colors for 15 years. Obua has been in the squad for close
to 10 years.
The Hearts FC forward’s retirement again comes days
before the big clash between Uganda Cranes and Congo-Brazzaville in the
Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on the 29th of February leaving Coach
Bobby Williamson with a replacement menace.
