Celtic's focus is winning not our opponents woes-Mugubi

Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama is on course to clinch the Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League title in his maiden season at Celtic after joining from Belgian side Germinal Beerschot at the beginning of the season.

Close rivals Rangers FC were last week deducted 10 points after going into administration after running into tax problems. The club is was found guilty of using of Employee Benefit Trusts (EBTs) to escape taxation and has a £9m unpaid tax bill for VAT and PAYE.

Rangers  trailed  Celtic by four points and the extra points deducted makes it an arduous task for them to catch up with Wanyama's side

Last  weekend Celtic labored to a 1-0 at Inverness CT in a tension packed match that should have gone either way. A first half red card to Celtic's Daniel Majstorovic compounded the Hoops woes but Victor Wanyama and his teammates dug deep to scrape a  1-0  victory.

Wanyama had to move back to a defensive role after Majstorovic's red card. He told Dailyrecord.co.uk,

“This game was difficult but we remained strong as a team. We worked hard as a group and managed to get the three points."

Wanyama has been a crucial member of the Celtic side that has gone for won their last seventeen matches. He is well aware of Rangers predicament  but he chose to focus on his team winning their remaining matches.

“We don’t focus on what other sides are doing and we are only concentrating on winning our match.

"We are far away from the end of the season. At the moment, we just think about game by game and then we’ll see what happens " Wanyama told Dailyrecord.co.uk.

On Sunday 19th Celtic will visit Hibernian in their 27th SPL fixture this season.
