Spanish handball Coach Instructor Gerard Aquila landed in the country on Tuesday morning for a series of coaching clinics around the country. Aquila will be specifically training handball coaches who handle children between the ages of 5 and 12 years.

Speaking to michezoafrika.com, Aquila says he is glad to be in the country and hopes to have a positive impact on the development of handball in Kenya, “this is my second time in Africa. I was here before in 2009 when I visited Angola and it’s an honor to be in Kenya. I hope the clinic will be successful and have an impact in developmental handball.”

Aquila’s first stop will be Kisumu then proceed to Eldoret and finally finish his tour in Nairobi. He will spend three days in each of the towns he visits.

Charles ‘Jaji’ Omondi the KHF Fixture Secretary and also an International referees Lecturer pointed out the importance of Aquila’s visit saying it is towards the right direction, “it is good that we have him here as he will greatly assist in training the coaches to the required international standards.”
