Kenya Polytechnic upset the 2011/2012 season runners up of the Kenya Handball Federation league Black Mamba on Sunday morning at the Nyayo Handball court edging them out with a 2 goal margin of 33-31. The tense match saw Mamba enjoy a slim a one goal advantage at half time (15-14) but lost their concentration in the second half especially on the defense allowing ‘Poly’ to score at will.

Michael Indasi, the Poly right back, was in top form harassing the Mamba defence and at the end of the match had given his side 6 goals alongside import Johnson Janseen with the same number of goals. Paul Ondara who also featured in the Kenya National team that travelled to Maputo last year gave Mamba 4 goals despite being off target in most of his attempts while Bruno Sewe had 6 goals.

Mamba has beaten Poly 3 times so far this year and the win was a huge boost to the side which has won the 2 league matches that they have played so far. They managed to crash newcomers Ghetto United 50-4 on Saturday evening at the UON Sports grounds.

At the same time, defending champions National Cereals and Produce Board of Kenya were also in action with an easy win over Mt. Kenya University beating the 40-28 with Danson Eshikomo scoring 8 goals for the champions.
