Nairobi Water handball club will be resuming training on Tuesday (12th Feb) since returning from the Africa Club Championship that was held in Tangier, Morocco from the 14th to the 25th of November in which they were ranked 9th out 10 teams.

Nairobi Water finished in runners up position during the East and Central Africa Club Championship hosted by Kenya, losing 22-35 to Heritage from DRC Congo in the finals. In their way to the finals of the regional tournament, they beat KHF League Champions Cereals 16-15 in a highly competitive match.

Coach Jack Ochieng says his side is now focused in winning the league for the 1st time ever and is optimistic that they will achieve their dream having gained a lot of experience from Morocco,

“In Morocco the girls were exposed to the highest level of handball and with that kind of experience we are at the front of winning the league.”He said.

Ochieng says the only threat to their ambitions are the Defending champs Cereals but they will work hard to make sure they beat them, “we have to train hard,  it is obvious that Cereals are our greatest threat but we are working on that.”
