Nairobi Water ladies handball team will head into the Kenya Handball Federation play-offs scheduled for this weekend at the Nyayo National Stadium, with nothing but winning in their sights.

The team which stunned the reigning champions National Cereals and Produce Board team 27 – 22 in the final league game played over the Easter weekend are more than ready. This is according to head coach Jack Ochieng who said “We have prepared well and come the weekend we are expecting nothing less than a win.’’

Ochieng mentioned that his team was superior in all aspects against Cereals last weekend and insisted that the girls are physically and mentally fit to cause more upsets during the play offs.

“Against Cereals, when it came to the technical aspect of the game we were simply the best." He adds.

On the other hand, Victor Siero the Cereals coach blamed a number of things for the loss , “Technically we had some setbacks one of them being my absence. I was not present during the match due to personal reasons. The lack of adequate preparation and missing 3 of our first team players also cost us the match.”

He further added that they will work on their weaknesses before facing Nairobi Water again at the play-offs.

The play-offs are scheduled for this weekend on 14th of April through to 15th.All matches will be played at the Nyayo national stadium handball court.
