Kenya Handball Federation 2013 League Champions, Nairobi Water Queens resumed training two weeks ago and according to the coach Jack Ochieng they are gearing up for the East and Central Championship but at the same time will be taking part in organised tournaments and the 2013/2014 league,

“For now we are fully focused onto the continental scene. Yes we shall be taking part in the locally organised tournaments and also the upcoming league but as we train we are looking at making our mark in the continental scene.” Ochieng told michezoafrika.com.

Nairobi Water were the runners up in the 2012 East and Central Club Championships that was hosted in Nairobi after they were beaten 22-35 by Heritage from Congo. In November they participated in the Africa Club Championships where they finished 9th out of 10 in the tournament.

The Queens will be in action this weekend as they take part in the Madaraka Day pre season tournament which will be played at the Nyayo handball court.
