Kenya Handball Federation to hold refereeing Course

The Kenya Handball Federation will hold its annual National Handball Refereeing course at the Nyayo National Stadium from the 13th to the 15th of April, this is according to fixtures Secretary Charles Omondi.

The course which is held in order to improve the standards of handball refereeing in the country will draw participants from various institutions across the country including Armed forces, Universities and Colleges. Individual participants are also expected to attend the training.

Speaking to MichezoAfrika.com, Omondi said that the standards of refereeing in Kenya compared to other countries is high but it was more important to take a practical approach in terms of facilitating the training

“Last year, November I was at Kaduna, Nigeria and the way I saw it, our referees are of high standards. We wanted to make the training more practical this time round that is why we are running it parallel with the League play-offs. Also sharing the international experience with the local referees is one of the main agendas at the training.” He said.

On the participation of the training, Omondi was optimistic that a good number of referees will turn up for the same.

“I have received several confirmations of participation from various referees and I am confident that we will have a good number’’.

The training will take place from 8.00 am on the scheduled days.
