KDF to host Chairman’s Cup tournament

The Kenya Defence Forces Handball Association will hold the 2013 Chairman’s Cup open tournament from the 12th -14th July. The tournament will be the second edition of which Ulinzi beat Kenya Polytechnic 26-19 at the Aga Khan High School to clinch the 2012 edition.

The tournament will be open for civilian teams and a registration fee of Ksh2000 will be expected from each team. Speaking to michezoafrika.com Sammy Mwangangi the KDF Assistant Secretary said that they expected an estimated 20 teams for the tournament,

“We expect around 20 teams that is inclusive of the civilian teams and the matches will kick off on Friday for the teams that will be available. The rest of the teams can join on Saturday as it is a three day tournament.”

The tournament will be staged at the Nyayo Handball Court with matches kicking off from 8:30 am.
