Kaloleni based Black Mamba handball club will on Friday afternoon play against the Kenya Handball Federation League reigning champions National Cereals Board of Kenya in a friendly match at the Cereals grounds from 4pm.

Black Mamba Coach Martin Abunde said his main aim is to gauge his players especially in their speed reaction in a real game situation, “We have been training for some time now and I saw the friendly against Cereals as a chance to look at our strength in terms of speed before the league kicks off. The other technical aspects will be covered in time before we play our first match.”

Black Mamba have had a number of pre-season matches and it looks like the runners up of the 2011/2012 handball league are in good form considering they managed to win the Madaraka Day handball tournament that was held at the Nyayo handball court and also the Mombasa Polytechnic open tournament in July.

The two teams will be facing each other for the first time since the finals of the play-offs played in April in which Cereals beat Black Mamba 34-23 to be crowned champions.
