4th Brigade charges its way into Bora Cup Finals

Handball veteran player coach Mackenzie Mwanthi was in blistering form leading Langata based 4th Brigade to a deserved 25-18 win over Kenya Navy in the semi-finals of the CDF Bora Cup on.

Mackenzie as he is commonly referred to was a constant thorn for the Navy side with his defence splitting passes and random shots at goal and by the end of the match he had six goals to his name followed by Haron Mambo who had 5 goals.

In the other semi-final, Moi Airbase suffered a shock defeat to Artillery Gunners with a 15-21 loss despite goalkeeper John Ombok’s impressive saves. MAB was the favorite of the two teams on paper composing of over 4 players turning out for the Defence Forces main team Ulinzi but this did not deter Artillery to play their hearts out and head into the finals.

In the women’s semi-finals MAB managed to beat Kahawa Barracks 16-7 with Rebecca Sirange who also turns out for the Kenya Basketball Federation Premier League Defending Champions (women) Eagle Wings scoring 7 goals while Gladys Nyanchama had 5 goals. MAB will meet Artillery in the finals after Artillery managed to beat Armored 22-11

The finals of the tournament will be played on Friday at the Nyayo Handball Court.
