Greg Snow is the best placed Kenyan at the close of business on the first day of the Barclays Kenya Open after posting a two under par 70. Snow lies 18th overall alongside defending champion Jordi Garcia Pinto.

Nick Rokoine, placed 34th overall on one under par 71 is the second best placed Kenyan while Njuguna Ngugi is tied for 49th, having played a par round of 72.

Dismus Indiza posted a one over par 73 and will be hard pressed to make the cut at the close of business Friday as he and the rest of the Kenyan contingent look to better the 1998 performance of Jacob Okello who missed the title after losing in a heartbreaking playoff for the title.
