The Limuru Country Club team of Ndiho Kangethe and John Ngugi are the 2012 winners of the Tusker Malt Golf Carnival Grand Finale held at the Muthaiga Golf Club over the weekend. The pair, playing off handicaps 17 and 28, combined brilliantly in the four-ball better-ball format, to post a huge score of 45 points to claim victory over 150 other  finalists.

With this victory, the pair will now be guests of Tusker Malt Lager in an all expenses paid VIP golf trip to South Africa that will involve golf at some of the top golf clubs in Gauteng and professional golf lessons at the Vodacom World of Golf in Sandton.

Since September last year, the tournament has visited 15 golf clubs across the country and hosting over 2,900 amateur golfers from 35 golf clubs.

Speaking at the prize giving ceremony, Kangethe thanked the sponsors for a well organized event.
"The Tusker Malt team has continued to come up with new and interesting ways for competition and this has kept this championship fresh and popular," he said.

In other results, the Muthaiga team of Richard Wanjala and Edmund Kabera finished second with 43 points beating the Karen Country Club team of Jeff Bamford and Bob Oliver to third place on count-back.

The Muthaiga team of Irungu Macharia and Evans Vitisia were the Guest winners with the highest score of the day, a massive 46 points. Jeremy Ngunze and Josephat Ngile were the guests’ runners up with 43 points.
