Large turn out expected as Dasani Golf Gala heads to Windsor

A large field of 204 players is expected at the fourth qualifying round of the 2012 Dasani Golf Gala which takes place on Saturday 16 June 2012 at the Windsor Golf and Country Club in Nairobi. We have already seen three rounds played at Kiambu (26th May), Thika (2nd June) and Vet Lab (9th June) where the top two sides from each of these qualifiers booked their berths to the September 29 Grand Finale that will take place at the Karen Golf and Country Club.

The winning team at the Grand Finale will earn an all expenses paid VIP trip to Dubai where they will attend the Grand Finale of the 2012  European Tour-the DP World Tour Championship at the Jumeirah Golf Estates in addition to playing at some of the best golf courses in the region, including the Dubai Creek Course and the Challenging Faldo Course at the Emirates Golf Club, a course designed by former world number one and six time Major Champion Sir Nick Faldo.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s action, Windsor’s resident professional Riz Charania said, “The course is in fantastic condition and has been playing longer than usual due to the recent rains and scoring has been difficult of late. The greens staff have been working extremely hard to get the course into shape for the Dasani event. Teams look very strong this year and picking a winner will be difficult. Notables in the field include P.K Mugambi, Mohammed Taib, J. Karani and our ever contingent junior squad.”

A.Maghas, A.Yaga, B.Njeri and Kosgei will get play underway from the first tee at 7.30am alongside the quartet of B.Kimeu, R.Matu, T.Omuli and J.Wahome who will start from the tenth tee at the same time.
