The 2010 golf safari series will roll down its curtains next week on the 26th March 2011 in the KQ golf safari series season finale at the Muthaiga golf club in Nairobi. This was unveiled by the Kenya open golf limited fraternity on Wednesday.

The finals will bring together all players who qualified in their respective countries which participated in the golf safari series. The series took place in 10 countries in Africa: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Cameroon, Senegal, Ethiopia, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Malawi.

Kenya will have a representation from the players who qualified in the 12 Kenya club nights that were held in various golf clubs.

Kenya open golf limited’s new partners Kenya Airways through the area manager Nita Nagi cordially invited all winners from each respective country and club nights’ winners to the grand finale.

“This partnership with Kenya open golf limited is quite timely as it coincides with the culmination of the KQ golf safari series and we are glad to partner with them. We therefore invite all winners from different countries for the finals,” Said Nagi.

Nagi said Kenya is one of the best golfing destinations in the world with over 41 golf courses across the country. This is more than any other African country apart from South Africa.

“Our partnership in supporting golf is a significant development that demonstrates our commitment to support golf and also to position Kenya as a prime time golf destination. Therefore, exposing the Kenya open to the Kenya airways Safari winners will be marketing Kenyan golf to Africa and the world.” Added Nagi.

The Safari finale will be followed by the Barclays Kenya open tournament from 31st March through to 2nd of April at the Muthaiga golf club.

Among those expected to play in this year’s Kenya open include: Ian Pyman, Andre Bossert, Gboyega Oyebanji, Lateef Lasisi, Chris Gerhaty, Scott Drummond, Tongo Charambe and Ignatius Mkekete.
