Kakamega dominate natural sweetness golf tournament

Kakamega golfers dominated the Mumias Natural Sweetness tournament that was staged over the weekend at the Mumias Golf club.
Handicap 19 Mildred Natecho from Kakamega club emerged the winner after beating a total of 64 golfers drawn from Nairobi, Nandi bears, Nyanza, Kakamega and Mumias club in the par 71 Mumias club.

She scored 21 stablefold points in the first nine and 16 stablefold points in the second nine to bring in a total of 37pts.

Second placed came handicap 21 Joshua Ashioya also from Kakamega club who scored 20 stablefold points in the first nine and 16 in the second nine to bring a total of 36 stable points.

Nyanza’s Patrick Owidh playing handicap 26 managed the third slot and was the only person from outside the Kakamega County that won a title after posting 16 stablefold points in the first nine and 19 points in the second to bring in a total of 35 points.

Kakamega Club’s P Mucheywa scooped the fourth place after bringing in 34 points, he was playing handicap 9.

Makuvi took 5th place, he also comes from kakamega club, he was playing handicap 20 and managed 34 points, he was however
beaten on countback by Mucheywa his club mate.

Sixth came handicap 17 Anthony Alachu from Mumias club who managed 34 points, Alachu was beaten on countback by Makuvi, he was followed by H Litali from Kakamega club who was playing handicap 5 with 33 points.

Rodgers Mulemi also from Kakamega Club took eighth place, he was playing handicap 16 and managed 33 points, but was defeated on countback by Litali.

1st nine winners was J Mundia who managed 20 points and Ondieki scooped the 2nd nine winners also with 20pts.
