A social media posting has cost Kenyan golfer Richard Ainley his place at the 2015 Barclays Kenya Open on Thursday. The Kenyan pro posted on his Facebook page,  “ I see colonization had not ended. Only Kenya’s elite and mzungus are allowed to park at the Kenya Open Karen Country Club. Us few players that have cars have to make a long trek.”

According to information obtained by MichezoAfrika, it turns out that Ainley had turned up at the tournament venue minus his car pass and was denied access by the security detail. It is then that he resorted to posting on social media.

It was at this point that his accreditation was withdrawn and he was struck off the tournament draw.

Tournament director Patrick Obath said Ainley breached section C of the  PGA European Tour Rules section C but observed that the player would receive no further sanction.
