Eliud Siganga lifts friends of golf tournament in Kisumu

Eliud Siganga left Mumias with empty hands but returned home with a plasma TV set after winning the Friends of the Captain Golf tournament held at the Kisumu’s Nyanza Golf Club. The tourney was sponsored by Members of the Golf.

Siganga, playing off handicap 27, posted 23 points in the first nine and 15 points in the back nine to register a total of 38 points beating 42 golfers drawn from Kisumu, Kisii, Mumias, and Kakamega. The tournament was played on Stableford format.

Kisii’s Zachary Bichage, playing off handicap 8, came second after registering 37 points. He posted an impressive 21 points in the first nine and 16 on inbound nine. He won himself a microwave.

Julius Omollo from Nyanza Golf also playing off handicap 8 won himself a DVD player after registering a total Stableford points of 37 bringing in 21 in the first nine and 16 in the second. Bichage edged the Kisumu-based golfer on countback. 

Fourth place went to Rames Karai (handicap 12) who posted 36 points, 22 in the first nine and 14 in the second. he won a fruit mixer.

Hezron Wafula from Mumias playing off handicap 10 took the fifth slot and won a whiskey bottle after registering 35 points bringing in 16 in the first  nine and 19 in the second. He  beat Patrick Owino who also scored 35 points on countback after scoring 18 in the first nine and 17 in the second. Janet Kalavor playing off handicap 35 scored 35 points after posting 21 in the first nine and 14 in the second.

With 35 points Sam Deya brought in 23 points in the first nine and 12 in the second. He was playing handicap 15 and was beaten on countback by Wafula, Owino and Kalavor.

James Makombwa won the first nine winners after bringing in 21 points.  second nine winners went to 13 handicap playing Jazz Sokhi who also brought in 21 points.
