Balminder Sokhi lifts Housing Finance Golf tourney

Nyanza Club golfers dominated the Housing Finance Sponsored Golf Tournament that was staged at the Nyanza’s Golf course over the weekend.Home Golfer Balminder Sokhi won the tournament and beat a field of 69 golfers to clinch the title.Sokhi who was playing handicap 12 managed to post 23 Stableford points in the first nine and added another 19 in the second to bring a total of 42 Stableford points to his tally and emerge the overall winner.

Second overall winner was Nyanza’s Handeep Rajput who was playing handicap 6 and who managed to bring a total of 37 Stableford points after posting 14 Stableford points in the first nine and 23 in the second.Third overall was home Golfer David Sate who was playing handicap 13 and who managed 19 Stablefords in the First nine and 18 in the Second to bring a total of 37 Stableford points but lost on countback to Rajput.

In the fourth place was Nyanza golfer Peter Owino who was playing handicap 4 and who managed 18 Stableford points and added another 19 in the second to bring his tally to a total of 37 Stableford points, Owino lost on Countback to Sate.

Former Nyanza Captain James Makombwa who was playing handicap 18 was in the sixth position after posting 36 points and he managed to post 16 Stableford points in the First nine and 18 in the second.

Lady winner was Dr. Rosemary Obara who was playing handicap 16 who brought in 31 Stableford points after posting 15 and 16 in the first nine and second nine respectively.

Staff {Housing Finance} winner was Simon Waweru who was playing handicap 19 and who managed 33 Stableford points after posting 18 Stableford points in the first nine and 15 in the second.

Longest Drive men was Balminder Sokhi while the Longest Drive Ladies was Dr. Rosemary Obara, Nairobi’s Ben Handa took the nearest to the pin slot.
