All to play for at Limuru's Dasani Gold Series qualifier

Stakes will be high when a large field of 196 players converge at the par 71 Limuru Golf and Country Club on Saturday 15 September 2012 for the final chance for amateur golfers to book the final eight berths to the grand finale slated for the Karen Country Club on Saturday 29 September 2012.

The series which has snaked its way around making Saturday’s event a must watch. It will certainly be explosive, given the fact that players who missed out on qualification during previous rounds are keen to give one last stab at booking a grand finale berth.

So far, the series has gone through Kiambu, Vet Lab, Thika, Railway, Sigona, Royal, Karen, Nakuru, Machakos, Nakuru, Nyeri, Nyali, Leisure Lodge, Kisii, Eldoret, Muthaiga and Nyanza.

According to Limuru Club’s chairman Yassin Awale, "The course is in lush condition due to the recent rains. Players will however find it difficult to post scores above 40 points. “The fairway is tight and players are advised to keep the ball in the fairway if they want to excel. The greens are also pretty fast."

This year, the winning team at the grand finale Karen will be rewarded with a memorable golfing trip abroad. They will travel to Dubai in November to attend the Grand Finale of the European Tour, the DP World Tour Championship at the Jumeirah Golf Estates all courtesy of Dasani.

The 2012 DP World Tour Championship will feature the world's top sixty golfers compete in The Race to Dubai Grand Finale. The pick of the crop who include Rory McIlroy, Rose Justin, Molinari Francesco, Ernie Els, Luke Donald & Lee Westwood – all currently ranked amongst the world's top ten on the current Leader board will battle it out for the US$ 1.3 Million winner’s cheque.

Dasani will also give the winners a bonus experience. While in Dubai, they will have the opportunity to play at some of the best golf courses in the region, which have in the past played host to leading players and tournaments.
