AFC vs Karuturi Sports at Nyayo

Karuturi Sports player cum coach Jacob Omondi has admitted that AFC Leopards deserved victory in the 3-0 win over his side in the quarter finals of the Gotv shield cup played on Sunday at the Nyayo stadium.

Not even desperate move by Omondi to take part in the match later could motivate the relegation embattled club to even getting a consolation goal in a match Omondi admits they were outplayed and outclassed in all departments.

Omondi took over charge from suspended namesake James Omondi and he now says the team will have to solely concentrate on the remaining five league fixtures in the league while hoping for the best.

Karuturi’s premier league fate next season is surely bleak as they are top priority suspects for relegation.

“My coming on in the match was a clear desperate move to try and motivate the players to play better. I guess it was little too late to comeback but I enjoyed giving instructions while on the pitch.”

“We never played well at all; the morale in the team somehow was very poor. Now that we are out, we have to think about the league and concentrate on the coming matches.” he added.

Karuturi next play Nairobi City Stars in a league match hoping to get a win to boost there almost near impossible survival chances as they are currently rooted at the base of the log.
