 Football Kenya Federation has announced today that stern action will be taken against AFC Leopards following the chaotic conduct of their fans on Monday during the GOTV Shield Cup semifinal match against Sofapaka at the City Stadium.

 In a statement, FKF says they are considering slapping the club with far reaching sanctions including hefty financial fine, directing that the team plays without fans in their home matches as well as banning them from taking part in next year’s edition of the same tournament.

AFC Leopards will also have to pay for all damages caused during the chaos that erupted after Sofapaka scored their second goal to take a 2-0 lead in the 88th minute.

The club will further be required to cater for all medical expenses for those injured during the match.

“AFC Leopards will have to bear the burden of loss to property including destruction of personal vehicles including SuperSport Outside Broadcasting Van and equipment. Medical bills for those injured during the fracas will also be borne by the club.” The statement reads in part.

FKF further notes that Police Officers deployed for matches are not enough to curb the violence and are always more reactive that strategic in deal with hooligans.

The Federation will await a full report and assessment of the damaged property before imposing a bill on the club.
