Kenya Cricket Falls to Ireland in Mombasa

Kenya national cricket team continued with their dismal performance when they went down to a charged Ireland side in Mombasa during the ICC T20 series.

The hosts lost the first match of the three match series on Saturday and yesterday’s game they again went down by six wickets to the visitors. Aul Sterling  smashed a brilliant unbeaten 65 runs as they chased Kenya’s meager target of 131 run for seven wickets.

Sterling hit nine fours in 52 ball innings that propelled Ireland to within sight of 131 who 15 balls to spare and eight wickets still out. Kevin O’Brien and Ed Joyce were other major players for Irish.

Young bowler George Dockrell cleaned up Kenya’s batting order dismissing Maurice Ouma (4), Duncan Allan (4) and Collins Ouma. Collins was trapped by Boyd Rankin. Tanmay Mishra got 24 runs before being sent to the stand by the impressive Dockrell.

Mishra was marching on to a decent score until he threw his wicket trying to go for a slog sweep that found Mooney at deep mid wicket on 34. He had put on 48 with Aga, who was also dismissed from a school boy howler on 24. The two teams return to the same venue on Saturday for the last T20 match.
