Following the struggles submerging Kenya’s national cricket team, South Africa’s international batsman Jonty Rhodes has been called up to assist the team ahead of the 2011 word cup set to kick off on 19th February.

This will not be the first time for Rhodes' engagement with the Kenyan team. He worked with the team during a three-week training camp at the High Performance Centre in Pretoria in November 2010 and is expected to translate his skill and good performance to the team that is predicted to jet back to Kenya later this week following their tour to India.

The team has been out of form for a while now, including their latest defeats in the India tour where they lost their first four matches with their final match against Baroda XI at Vadodara on Tuesday, but despite the situation at hand, the entire cricket management has hopes on the team’s revival.

Following his appointment, Rhodes presence is expected in the squad during their World Cup preparations in Nairobi, travel with them to an ICC High Performance Camp in Dubai on 30 January and then on to Sri Lanka for the final stage of the preparations and warm up matches.
Kenya's first game of the competition is against New Zealand at Chennai on February 20 2011.
