A late penalty conversion by Carlington Nyadombo earned a 2-1 victory to AmaZulu against Manchester City in the Football Invitational at Moses Mabhida on Thursday.

The former English Champions pride was reduced in South Africa and they leave with tails between legs after losing both matches having conceded 2-0 to Super Sport United-three days ago- in the ten day South Africa tour.

The English Premier League giants dominated from the word go with Samir Nasri’s goal attempt being saved well by AmaZulu keeper Tapuwa Kapini in the 20th minute. The visitors were caught pants down with a blind pass from Alexander Kolarov which was well utilized by Ndulula who made a brilliant shot past Joe Hart.

The visitors kept asking questions with Yaya Toure saving the day after snatching a cross from Scott Sinclair to head it to Milner who finished it by adding a last touch with both sides comfortable with 1-1 during the break time.

The second half saw City waste numerous chances but the hosts were awarded a penalty with two minutes remaining for a foul on Mark van Heerden, with Nyadombo doing the business from the spot.
