Kenyan born, British citizen Christopher Froome is on the verge of winning the Tour de France on Wednesday during the final lap. Froome has a chance of extending his lead over the likes of two-time champion Alberto Contador, 2010 winner Andy Schleck and 2011 winner Cadel Evans in the Tour's first individual time trial, one of his favorite disciplines.

Chris has been one of the top performers for Team Sky from England as he came in second at the 2012 Tour de France. He has worn the Corsica and Tour of Oman this cycling season. He was second at the Tirreno-Adriatico which was worn by Vincenzo Nibali.

Froome had a superb outing over the weekend, first he crushed his rivals with a brutal acceleration up to the finish line in Saturday's eighth stage. On Sunday he fended off attacks from rivals without the help of his teammates on an even tougher mountain stage.

This years’ Tour de France started on June 29th with the starting point being in France Islands.
