The Ghana Football Association’s has been drawn to a publication suggesting that Black Stars coach Goran Stevanovic will be relieved of his duties next month after the black stars performed poorly in the just concluded African Cup of nations tournament.
In a statement on the FA website, the FA said that “We wish to state that the report is inaccurate and does not represent the position of the GFA. The report quoted an anonymous management member of the GFA in Malabo but all of them have denied talking to the reporter about the future of Mr. Stevanovic.”
The statement added that, “The report is also riddled with several inaccuracies as the coach’s contract expires in 2013 and not 2012.We want to assure the general public that a comprehensive report on the performance of the Black Stars at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations will be made available to the executive committee on 22 February then Executive Committee will announce the decision on the future of Mr. Stevanovic.”
A press conference will be held in Accra on 22 February to announce the decision.
