Kenyan born Chris Froome claim he is 100% clean after he was hit out by critics who believes that he has been cheating and following in the footsteps of Lance Armstrong who was using drugs to enhance his stunning win on Mont Ventoux.

His performance which feature short and remarkable attacks on the 20.8 km climb to the summit raised suspicion which led to comparison to Lance Armstrong who seven Tour titles were removed for doping.

Froome brushed off those claims on Monday and assured the critics that his team has earn their good performance through hard work and practice. Froome’s rival Alberto Contador defended Froome saying”I fully believe Froome is clean. He is a professional rider who has been performing at high level all year, and I think that his results are the fruits of the work he puts in and nothing else”.

The matter raised concern to the World Anti-Doping Agency and the Sky rider was subjected to four drug tests in 28hours and he was also automatically urine tested after Saturdays’ and Sundays’ stages but also selected to random blood test on Sunday morning and Sunday evening.

The race resumed on Tuesday for the 16th stage takes place over the hilly terrain from Vaison La-Romaine to a downhill finish in Gap and it saw Froome retain the yellow jersey despite Rui Costa winning the stage.
