AFCON: Gabon beat Burkina Faso as Congo hold hosts

The long awaited 2015 Africa Cup of Nations finally kicked off on Saturday in Equatorial Guinea with two Group A matches.

Hosts Equatorial Guinea guided by Coach Esteban Becker failed to collect maximum results against Claude Le Roy’s side  as the two teams drew  1-1.

Congo scored in the last three minutes of the match to cancel an early lead by the hosts who opened the day with a 16th minute goal through Captain Emilio Nsue.

 In the second match, Gabon had a perfect start when they defeated Burkina Faso.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored in the 19th minute while a header from Malick Evouna in the 72nd minute sealed they deal for maximum points.
