Williamson praised the performance of the boys saying they worked hard and deserved to win the Cecafa championship. He was speaking in Dar es Salaam Tanzania on Saturday evening after his team - The Uganda Cranes lifted the 2011 edition with a win over Rwanda in the finals.

The Scottish coach more specifically praised the performance of his players especially captain Andrew Mwesigwa,Mike Serrumaga, Simeon Masaba, Tonny Mawejje, Musa Mudde , Emmanuel Okwi  among others and youthful players Henry Kalungi, Isaac Isinde, Emma Okwi, Mike Mutyaba and Moses Oloya who he thinks have now matured to gain a starting place during the oncoming African Cup of nations qualifiers.
