FUFA on Saturday evening awarded the Uganda Cranes players 20,000 USD (50 Million Uganda Shillings) to divide amongst themselves as a reward for working hard to lift their 12th Cecafa title. Uganda’s soccer governing body FUFA made the announcement through FUFA’s President in charge of technical matters, Livingstone Kyambadde.

The money is part of the prize money won by the team after beating Rwanda 3-2 in the finals on post match penalties. The match had ended 2-2 in regulation time with keeper Abbey Dhaira making three brilliant stops to deny Rwanda glory.

After lifting the title, winners Uganda Cranes took home 30,000USD, runners up Rwanda 20,000 USD while Sudan who finished 3rd with a1-0 win over hosts Tanzania walked home with 10,000USD.
