Trailblazers had a narrow 63-61 win over KCA-U in the Kenya Basketball Federation Division One on Sunday afternoon at the Nyayo Gymnasium.KCA dominated the first half of the match as they took the 1st and 2nd quarter 18-16 and 18-10 respectively to put the half time scores at 36-26.

The students however slumped in the last two quarters as they went down 15-18 in the 3rd quarter and 10-19 in the last to see Trailblazers take home the 2 league points. Trailblazer’s Shem Otieno and Ishmael Nyamache had 21 and 15 points respectively while Victor Okello and George Ochieng sunk in 17 and 13 points respectively for KCA.

In other Division One matches Strathmore B overcame last weekend’s loss to Equity when they beat World Hope 61-42. Peter Shelton who has been on top form since the team gained promotion sunk in an impressive 27 points for his side followed by Derrick Juma who had 14 points. Trever Nyarache and Moses Abraham each had 13 points for World Hope.

KSSA basketball champions Upper Hill High School were lucky to beat college students Zetech 64-62 with power forward Joseph Ongoro leading the scores with 23 points to his name. Joshua Okumu’s 33 points in the match were not enough for Zetech as they settled for the one league point.
