Shauri Moyo's Thunder basketball team currently leads the KBF Premier League men’s table standings after going unbeaten in all the five matches that they have played. The team has managed to upset both the winners and the runners up of the 2012 season,  Co-op Bank and USIU Tigers respectively.

Last weekend Thunder beat former champions Ulinzi Warriors 59-54 in a closely contested match. Thunder has 10 points from the matches they have played.

Strathmore and Lions are in position two and three respectively with the two teams sharing 7 points after winning three of their four matches.

Defending Champions Co-op Bank occupy fourth place with 5 points after playing three matches of which they have won 2 and lost one. Debutants Nakuru Club, Mennonites and Nairobi Aviation who are also newcomers in the league are in position 5, 6 and 7 respectively with all the three teams having 5 points after winning only one of the three matches that they have played so far.

In the second half of the table, Ulinzi Warriors and Blazers occupy position 8, 9 and share 4 points with both teams losing two of the three matches that they have played. University team UoN Terrorists, Mombasa based Kenya Ports Authority and USIU Tigers are the last three teams on the log with Terror having 3 points, KPA 2 points and Tigers 1 point. Terror has played two matches of which they have won one, KPA has won its only match while Tigers lost the only match they have played to league leaders Thunder.

In the ladies category Co-op Bank lead with 7 points followed by Defending Champions Eagle Wings who have 6 points after winning all their 3 matches. Storms. NYTA-Shimba Hills and debutants KCA-U are in position 3, 4 and 5 respectively sharing 5 points. Storms and Shimba have won 2 of the three matches that they have played while KCA has only one win from four matches.

The other half of the ladies category sees Safe Spaces and Mennonites in position 6 and 7 with 4 and 3 points respectively while KPA, USIU Flames and Strathmore follow respectively with the teams sharing 2 points. KPA and Flames have both won the one match that they have played while Strathmore has lost both matches that they have played. Western Delight and KU Oryx are the last two teams in the category with the Kakamega side having one point after they lost to Eagle Wings while KU has not yet played any match in the league.
