The 14th edition of the East and Central Africa Inter cities basketball championship will be held in Kampala Uganda from the 24th to the 28th of April this year. The tournament that was last held in Nairobi will bring together teams from cities in Kenya, hosts Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia and South Sudan.
After attending the organizers meeting in Kampala Uganda, Inter cities executive officer, Agina Wesonga said that all preparations are through and the stage is already set for the championships.
“The officials in Kampala are working round the clock for these championships,” he said.
Thomas Olumbo and Emmanuel Ochieng will take charge of the Kenyan male team while Ben Oluoch and Sylvia Njeri will take charge of the ladies team.
Both Kenyan teams will look to defend their titles they won in last year’s edition that was staged in Nairobi.
The Nairobi males’ team beat Juba 68-60 in tightly contested match while Nairobi combined were no match for their lady Nairobi counterparts who thrashed them 50-40.
