It is do or die for the women basketball League defending champions Eagle Wings as they take on classy USIU Flames in game 4 of the KBF Classic Playoffs semi finals at the Nyayo stadium this afternoon at 4:00PM.

Trailing the students 2-1 after Saturday’s 51-60 loss in game three, Eagle Wings must force a tie to take the semis to the 5th decider.

Eagle Wings’ Evelyn Kedogo says the team knows the risk ahead especially since most of their point players are injured and have been struggling with form but they remain determined to grab the 4th match, “Samba and Silalei who are some of our key players are fighting hard to play with injuries that have slowed their performance. This makes it so hard to rotate the team and to execute our game plan. However, we are determined to fight hard and win this one because it is our lifeline if we have to stay in line with our title retention dream.” She said ahead of kick off.

Having lost the first match, Flames recovered to defeat Eagle Wings 70-57 in game two last week and followed it up with Saturday’s win that puts them in a fine position to reach the finals.

A win for USIU Flames will see the champions dumped from the finals with the Flames qualifying to meet KPA in the finals. USIU lost to Eagle Wings in the finals last season.

Both teams will be traveling to Morocco for the Africa Club championships as Zone 5 representatives.
