Pay Television Company StarTimes Media is the latest to join the Kenya Basketball scene by partnering with CodeRed Basketball and the Kenya Basketball federation for the annual All Stars basketball tournament this Friday 30th August at the Nyayo Stadium Gymnasium starting from6pm till late.

This becomes the third pay TV operator to join Kenyan basketball after SuperSport took over the broadcast of KBF premier league matches while Wananchi Group through their ZUKU brand sponsors the Universities’ basketball league.

Now in its 3rd consecutive year, the StarTimes All Stars 2013 edition is an extension of the ever popular Friday Night Basketball and will feature four teams namely; Nairobi, Kisumu, Eagle Wings and Co-operative Bank pitted against each other for the ultimate crown of the StarTimes All Star Champions 2013.

The tournament has grown to be a must attend annual edition in the sports calendars among basketball lovers with last year’s edition having attracted 2,500 fans. This year, organizers are targeting over 4,500 fans from across the country.

StarTimes All Stars 2013 edition complements the continued growth and development for local talent that has led to increased appetite for local tournaments and league games across various sporting disciplines.

CodeRed Entertainment Managing Director Mr. Allan Muigai noted that, “this will go a long way towards entrenching the game further among Kenyans and commanding a loyal following”, observed Mr. Muigai.
