Nairobi Basketball Association (NBA) side Footprints received  a donation of sports equipment from Michezo Afrika on Thursday afternoon at the Nairobi Railways Club.

The sports equipment which included a brand new stop watch, training singlets, basketball shoes, plating kits and basketballs were given by Michezo Afrika courtesy of Baylor University sports team. Coach Kent Juma Abdalla and the Footprints team were ecstatic when receiving the donation terming it a “surprise of good luck charm” for their next game as they face the unbeaten Ulinzi.

“On behalf of the entire team we are so grateful for the kind gesture that Michezo Afrika in partnership with Baylor University Sports team has shown us. This comes as a great source of motivation and we promise that we will keep the spirit of winning even as we face our tough opponents” said Coach Kent.

Besides having received donation and support from Michezo Afrika, friends and other well wishers, some of the Footprints team members are at the verge of receiving sports and academic scholarship from different Universities in the United States which includes Dakota State University, Indiana State University and Cleveland University.

Footprints are currently in the second position in the Nairobi Provincial League with 17 points having won eight games and lost one game to Ulinzi in the first leg. Footprints are set to play this weekend against their tough opponents Ulinzi.

“We know Ulinzi are tough but we are putting up a different mode of play which includes man to man, congested D and 2-3 zone. We are confident that we will leave a footprint at the court that Ulinzi will never forget” said Marsha Owiti Footprint’s Team manager.
